"Let's Play" Limited Edition Sterling Silver Necklace

IMAGINE a place to play, a place to learn, and a place to make friends...imagine a chance to help build such an important place! A child’s playground is...a child’s workplace, a place for social interaction, and a place for exploration and imagination. For most children, playing, learning, and making friends comes easy. For many children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, playing, learning and especially making friends can be very difficult. A fully accessible playground with components for children with sensory and social challenges is important for our community and our children. Prince Philip Elementary School in Saskatoon, SK. has the unique privilege of including the Junior and Intermediate Autism Support Programs. These programs are offered to students who have a diagnosis of Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder and who are unable to function in a mainstream classroom.

I am a mother of two boys and I understand how important it is to have a safe playground that promotes active learning, play, and social development. I am also a Speech-Language Pathologist and work with children who have communication delays and disorders¸ such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. My passion is designing jewelry and I knew I had to design a special piece for this exciting project.
My necklace design has a sterling silver puzzle piece charm, the symbol for Autism Awareness, and a sterling silver “Let’s Play” heart charm to symbolize our future playground. These two special charms hang from a delicate sterling silver chain.

Each necklace is $30 and for every limited edition “Let’s Play” necklace sold, I will donate $10 towards building a new fully accessible playground that incorporates a variety of sensory play experiences.
